01

Account & sign-in

How do I create an account or sign in?

From the welcome screen, tap Get Started (or I already have an account) to reach the sign-in screen. You can sign in or sign up with your email and a password, Continue with Google, or Continue with Apple.

What are the password rules?

Your password must be at least 8 characters and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. The same rules apply whenever you set or change a password later.

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and tap Send link. Opening the emailed link on your phone takes you to a Set a new password screen. If your account uses Google/Apple sign-in, just use that option instead.

I signed up with Google or Apple — can I add an email password too?

Yes. Go to Profile → Settings → Account and tap Set a password. You can then sign in either way.

How do I change my password?

Go to Profile → Settings → Account and tap Change password. Enter your current password, then choose and confirm a new one.

How do I sign out — will I lose anything?

Go to Profile → Settings → Account Safety and tap Sign out. Signing out only logs you off on that device; your account and data stay safe.

How do I delete my account, and can it be undone?

Go to Profile → Settings → Account Safety → Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account, reflections, chat history, settings, and progress, and it cannot be undone. See our Delete Account page for details.

02

Subscription & billing

Is there a free trial?

Yes — Divine Breath Premium comes with a 3-day free trial, so you can try everything Premium offers before paying anything. Cancel anytime before the trial ends at no cost.

How much does Premium cost?

Premium is $39.99 per year (about $3.33 a month) or $7.99 month-to-month. The exact price shown in the app matches your store's checkout price.

What does Premium unlock?

Every core feature stays free forever — the daily devotional, Bible reading, reflections, and journey streaks. Premium adds more Divine Guide messages, the "Explain this Scripture" tool, all reading plans, weekly AI summaries, and longer saved history.

How does billing work?

Billing is handled entirely through Google Play on Android. After your 3-day trial ends, Google Play charges your chosen plan and renews automatically until you cancel.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Cancel through the Google Play subscriptions screen: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Divine Breath → Cancel.

I already paid, but Premium isn't showing on a new phone.

Open the upgrade screen and tap Restore in the top corner to re-check your purchase with the store.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for, then your account returns to the free tier. Your content stays with you.

03

The Bible

Can I read the Bible inside the app?

Yes — tap the Bible tab, pick a book and chapter, and the full chapter appears with verse numbers.

Which Bible translations are available?

The World English Bible (WEB) and the King James Version (KJV). WEB is the default; switch with the translation button at the top of the Bible screen.

What can I do with a single verse?

Tap any verse for Bookmark, Highlight, Note, Reflect, Copy, Share, Explain, and Ask in Guide.

Where do my bookmarks, highlights, and notes go?

They're saved to your account under Profile → Study.

Are reading plans free, or do I have to pay?

Both — many plans are free, some are marked Premium.

Can I read the Bible offline?

Chapters you've opened, plus bookmarks, highlights, notes and searches, stay readable offline. New chapters need a connection the first time.

Is "Explain this Scripture" free, and does the AI change the Bible text?

Explain is a Premium feature. It only adds context — a main idea, a reflection question, and a prayer prompt — and never rewrites the Bible text.

04

Divine Guide

What is Divine Guide, and what can I use it for?

A warm, calm AI companion offering spiritual guidance and reflection drawn only from the Bible — denomination-neutral and focused on your personal walk with God.

How many messages can I send each day?

Free: 3 messages a day. Premium: 50 a day. Limits reset at midnight UTC.

Is Divine Guide a substitute for a counselor or therapist?

No. It's a spiritual reflection tool, not a counselor, and always encourages seeking professional or community support when needed.

What happens if I mention thoughts of self-harm?

Divine Guide responds with compassion and shows a "You are not alone" banner with a one-tap button to call a crisis or emergency hotline. If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Why are Divine Guide's answers so short?

Replies stay around 150 words so each answer is clear and complete.

Does it use only the Bible, or other religious texts too?

Only the Christian Bible (WEB or KJV). It won't compare other religions' texts and gently points back to Christ and Scripture.

Are my conversations private?

Yes — chats are stored encrypted, only recent conversation is kept, and you can delete the whole conversation anytime.

Can I save an answer to come back to later?

Yes — tap the bookmark action on any response to save or remove it.

05

Reflections & the daily devotional

What is a reflection?

Your own private journal entry — a place to write down what God is doing in your life, started from the Reflection tab with gentle prompts.

Are my reflections private and secure?

Yes — encrypted with AES-256 on our servers, and marked Private on the Reflection screen.

What is Examen mode — is it the same as confession?

A gentle evening practice with three prompts: where you noticed grace, where you resisted it, and what to entrust to God. Not confession — no absolution, no priest.

What kinds of reflections can I write?

Free-form Journal, a reflection tied to today's devotional, a Scripture reflection, or the evening Examen — with an optional mood.

What is the daily devotional — can I listen to it?

A verse, a short reflection prompt, and a prayer on the Today tab. Reading only for now — audio is planned.

What is the "Creation of the Day"?

A nature image paired with a verse at the top of the Today screen, shareable with friends or family.

Can I get a summary of my recent reflections?

Yes — the Weekly review gathers themes, a prayer prompt, and a next step. Full review is Premium; free shows a preview.

Can I delete a reflection, and what happens to it?

Yes, with confirmation. It disappears right away and is permanently cleared from our servers within about 30 days.

06

Privacy & your data

Is my personal data private?

Reflections and chat are stored encrypted on our servers, and you can export your data or delete your account anytime. The AI features are the one place your text leaves us: it is sent to our AI providers to generate a reply, without anything attached that identifies your account. See our Privacy Policy and Terms for full details.

How do I download a copy of my data?

Go to Profile → Settings → Privacy & Legal → Export my data. Private reflection text stays encrypted and isn't included.

What information does the app store about me?

Your account profile, settings, journey progress, devotional and reading history, reflections (encrypted), chat history, and limited safety information if crisis language is detected.

How is my data used by the AI features, and what about crisis messages?

Divine Breath does not run its own AI models. Text you submit is sent to DeepSeek, with OpenAI as a backup, only to generate a response — never with your name, email, or account ID. The weekly reflection summary is the one feature that sends your reflection text, and only when you ask for it. Crisis language triggers safety resources instead of an AI request, and limited safety logging. The AI never acts as a therapist. Section 6 of the Privacy Policy lists exactly what each feature sends.

07

App, devices & notifications

What kind of phone can I use Divine Breath on?

Android phones and tablets, available now on Google Play. An iOS version is coming soon.

What language is the app in?

English only for now.

Can I get a daily reminder, and set the time?

Yes — Profile → Settings → Daily Rhythm, toggle Daily Reminders and set a Reminder Time.

My reminders aren't showing up — what should I check?

Make sure notification permission is on for Divine Breath in your phone's own Settings, then switch Daily Reminders back on.

Does the app have a dark mode?

Yes — Profile → Settings → Preferences → Theme: Light, Dark, or System.

Is Divine Breath tied to one church or denomination?

No — Christ-centered but denomination-neutral, welcoming believers from every Christian tradition.
